Everyday is an opportunity to be true to who you are. You are unique and special. The subject of identity is a major issue in society. There are many confused and directionless people not knowing who they are. As a child of God, you are meant to reflect the image of Christ. The big question is who are you?
The best way to answer this question is to know who God is. When you discover God your creator then you will have a clear picture of who you are but also what He created you for on earth.
“And this, so that I may know Him [experientially, becoming more thoroughly acquainted with Him, understanding the remarkable wonders of His Person more completely] and [in that same way experience] the power of His resurrection [which overflows and is active in believers], and [that I may share] the fellowship of His sufferings, by being continually conformed [inwardly into His likeness even] to His death [dying as He did];”
Philippians 3:10 AMP
By default, children should replicate certain characteristics, habits, personalities, appearances, etc. from either their mother or father. If there are no traces of the parent in anyway, one would become suspicious wondering where on earth did the child come from? The same applies to your relationship with God the Father. If you claim you are a child of God, then ask yourself in which way do you look like God? Do you walk and live in the spirit? Do you carry the fruits of the spirit? Do you talk like God? Do you love like God?
“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”
Galatians 5:22 AMP
If you are in a season where you feel confused about your identity and purpose, take time out with the word of God. The word will outline exactly who you are. Generally, we are called to be a light to our world. The way the light manifests various per indiviudal. Spend time with the Father and He will take you on a journey of self-discovery through His word. As you unveil the word of God it will shape and give you the confidence you need to begin to walk and live in your purpose.
““You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;”
Matthew 5:14 AMP
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. [Ex 19:5, 6]”
1 Peter 2:9 AMP
