Contentment

Is there anything you have but are not satisfied? Maybe you feel like its not enough, are you questioning your portion? You see the thing about contentment is if it's not dealt with properly, it can open dangerous doors. Discontentment can lead to comparison, jealously, envy, bitterness, stealing, even murder.
“But godliness actually is a source of great gain when accompanied by contentment [that contentment which comes from a sense of inner confidence based on the sufficiency of God]. For we have brought nothing into the world, so [it is clear that] we cannot take anything out of it, either. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who [are not financially ethical and] crave to get rich [with a compulsive, greedy longing for wealth] fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction [leading to personal misery]. For the love of money [that is, the greedy desire for it and the willingness to gain it unethically] is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves [through and through] with many sorrows.”
1 Timothy 6:6-10 AMP
God is our sufficiency. He is enough for you and me. Appreciate God for what He gave you. The root of contentment is to ensure you do not make an idol out of anything. Your heart posture is important to God. For example, wealth and riches are good and God desires all His children to acquire it. We were never destined to live a poverty stricken life. However, it's the love of money and greed that lead to the manifestations of evil. If there is anything you place above God and have a means of acquiring it in an unbiblical manner, then its not worth it.
In the Bible, the Levites were priests fully dedicated to the work of God. God was their sufficency and compensated them for service. They had to remain content knowing He would take care of them.
““The Levitical priests, the entire tribe of Levi, shall own [privately] no portion [of land] or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the Lord’s offerings by fire and His portion. They shall have no inheritance [of land] among their countrymen (brothers, brethren); the Lord is their inheritance, as He promised them.”
Deuteronomy 18:1-2 AMP
Contentment even goes as far as the season you currently are in. There are believers that constantly compare their lives and status with others forgetting that we are all at different stages and seasons. Perhaps you are single and jealous of another sister in Christ getting married. You should rejoice with her as the scripture tells us "Rejoice with those who are rejoicing". Instead you find yourself not happy for her because you wish you were in her shoes. The very reason why you are still single may be because God is refining you and preparing you for marriage but you are not ready. Enjoy and appreciate that season because its a "season" meaning temporary and will not last forever. Learn that life comes in times and seasons. Start from where you are appreciate your beginning and every step that percedes. If you cannot appreciate where you are now, it will be difficult to appreciate anything later on.
This is a heart check.
