Beyond what you See

My husband brought me a sack of grapefruit which I was excited to have because I have not had one in a while. They have been in the fridge the way I like my fruit, waiting for the day I would consume them. To my disappointment, when I ate the grapefruit the inside was dried up and light pink in color. I said to myself I love grapefruit so much I will try again the next day and see if I get a better one. Again, I had the same bad result.

At this point I am thinking to throw all of them away because what is the point? Everyday as I open my fridge the grapefruit is there and I am pondering what to do next. One day I grabbed all of the grapefruit to discard them in the trashcan when I decided I will try one more time. I cut it open and to my surprise the grapefruit was juicy and bright red in color. I immediately ate it.

This brings up today's post life is beyond what you see. There are popular sayings: "There is more than meets the eye", "Don't judge a book by its cover", or "Looks can be deceiving." There are things in your life that may initially look like those bad grapefruits that you want to give up on. Looks like nothing good will come from it so you want to throw it away and move on to the next. Hold on and walk through the process of patience. Go back and expect that something good will come from that same place. This is not the time to give up! You have been accustomed to a place of stagnancy but hear the word of the Lord.

”“The Lord our God spoke to us at Horeb, saying, ‘You have stayed long enough on this mountain.“

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭1‬:‭6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

It is time to believe again, try again, move again, apply again. For this time it will yield a good result. It will end in praise! Some of you do not recognize that you already have what God has promised you because of what you have experienced. Your testimony is unfolding right before your eyes. Redirect your attention back on God and His word.

My church is studying mercy and goodness for the month of March and this speaks of the season we are in. When referring to this dimension of mercy, it means suffering. It is a season death, sorrow, pain, refining. No one likes it but is necessary for every believers rising. Even Jesus went through his mercy period. The mercy system is one that is developed to deliver one into their season of goodness. These two dimensions go together and is pattern of Gods love towards us. You may be thinking "He loves me and will make me suffer?" Yes. Not to harm you but to refine you into the person he fashioned you to become.

”And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory. For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] that the sufferings of the present life are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us!“

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father in all His glory and we too are seated with Him in heavenly places. I promise that you will not be put to shame. Look to God and He will lift you. Do not use your physical eyes to look at your situation look through the lense of the spirit to see what God has been pointing for you to see.
